I am a perfectionist.
It has taken me a long time to learn to delegate to my team and let them handle the finer details. I’m nowhere close to being perfect, but progress has definitely been made over the years.
I know nothing will be perfect. In fact, it shouldn’t matter. I’ve realized when you (or your team) is really, really good at something, your version of “ready” is typically leagues better than what the client was expecting.
This doesn’t mean that it can’t be improved. Everything can be improved in some way, shape, form, or fashion.
But, in the words of one of my favorite professors: make it work. Then make it work better.
We’ll settle for ready.
