Where are you “going to the fringes?”
The problem with being a “middle of the road” business is that the path is wide and well-traveled. It is simple to be good.
A lot of people can:
- Build good websites
- Create good content
- Design good graphics
- Write good code
- Make good food
Good typically has a mediocre message behind it. It’s service-oriented. It’s a task list to get done.
We go to a great restaurant not because we’ll get the most food we’ve ever eaten, but because we want the experience. We are willing to pay for a great steak because we know for a fact that it will be cooked to perfection. The waiter won’t be rushed from table to table.
We are looking for the memory. This type of establishment leaves an impression and a desire to go back.
When you go for the fringes, you create a memory for clients and something that creates buzz.
Go for the fringes of the bell curve. Going for the middle is death to growing a culture, community, and business.
