“The world is a classroom.”
This is something I’ve never considered before, but rings truer now that I’m reading and writing on a more regular basis.
Everything is a learning opportunity:
- Conversations you have over meals
- The 45-second conversation you have with the person in line next to you
- The books you read (whether for enjoyment or growth)
- The check-in calls you have with your friends you don’t get to see often
- The discussions you have with your nieces and nephews while playing a card game
The question is: are we listening?
Or are we just going about our lives either literally or figuratively with our Airpods always in our ears letting the world pass us by?
David Senra hosts the Founders podcast and I listened to episode #341 (direct to website or listen on Spotify). I also talked about not knowing how your actions will impact life upstream Unlocking (and Mickey Mellen writes about it in a different context as well)
(we talk a lot on this show about) the idea that the world is a classroom. The books that you’re reading. The knowledge and skills that you are acquiring. The relationships that you are building – you have no idea the opportunities they unlock in the future.
